SpacePath launches new range of direct attach block upconverters at IBC 2022
New Range of Outdoor, Antenna Mount Frequency Upconverters To Cover All SATCOM Commercial and Military Bands
SpacePath Communications (‘SpacePath’), a dedicated, European-based SATCOM amplifier manufacturer and equipment supplier, is to launch its new modular, single/multi-band outdoor, block upconverter (BUC) range at IBC 2022.
SpacePath’s new STU series single/multi-band outdoor frequency converters conveniently and seamlessly provide frequency up conversions, covering all frequency bands in single, dual, tri and quad-band configurations.
A key benefit of the BUC design is the flexibility the direct attach approach allows for simplified upgrades, from single frequency to multi-band operation.
On display at IBC will be a Ka-band BUC module featuring a simultaneous output configuration, allowing the entire Ka-band to be covered instantly without requiring to jump between sub-bands. Providing high efficiency performance in a compact, lightweight and rugged enclosure, it attaches directly onto SpacePath’s STA4/5 series of amplifiers. Once mated to the amplifier, it requires no additional power supply. The low-profile, modular assembly is weather-proofed for outdoor antenna mounting and features its own graphical user interface control.
Included within the new range of modular frequency converters are BUCs covering extended C, Ku and Ka frequency bands. These provide a simple upgrade solution at Ka- band, with a single 1GHz channel, to a quad-band solution covering the entire frequency band with single or multiple inputs.
Colin Bolton, director of business development, said: “Our new range of modular BUCs exemplifies our approach to customer-led innovation. The direct attach design greatly simplifies installation, maintenance and operation, while providing a cost-effective and future-proofed amplifier upgrade path.”
SpacePath’s high performance uplink amplifiers cover all mission-critical segments including satellite newsgathering (DSNG), flyaway or truck-based systems, fixed-earth stations and military satellite communications.
